A week of Doctors Appointments

Busy week this week, taken up with Doctors appointments. For about 2 months, Lily has been complaining about having sore hips, so this week when she said they were sore again I took her up to the GP to get them checked out. No clicky hips so he sent her for an x-ray and bone scan. The x-ray we could get done straight away and it showed no problems. She was very brave on her own, Zane & I had to wait outside the room while the picture was taken. Next week we go for the bone scan, not looking forward to that as it involves an injection, so am bringing Murray along to help!

Zane had his first appointment at the Cleft Clinic today. It was a 7.30am start at the Childrens Hospital so a very early morning. Firstly he got his photo taken - wish I got those big easy smiles all the time!! Next we saw the ENT, the surgeon, his registrar, a speech pathologist and orthodontist. Quite the production. Thankfully all is well, we mainly went about his teeth and the orthodontist it happy with them and not worried about the one in the cleft of his gum eventhough it is a bit brown. We do have to get a hearing test in 3 months as there was some fluid in his ear but they believe it is a result of the tonsilitis he had last week. All up we were there for 2 hours and Zane was pretty good, though the temptation of the playground was quite strong.

I have been feeling a bit run down too, so a few early nights and woke this morning with a sore throat. Must be my turn...

Dance Concert Dress Rehearsal

Lily started Kinderdance this year and LOVES it! She is getting ready for her first end of year concert, and on Sunday they had the dress rehearsal and photo day. The outfits were a bit less than I was expecting, considering they are pirates!! We will probably put a singlet under it on the day of the concert. Also, I cannot "do" hair so was pretty pleased with the plaits I did for her. She does look very cute!

I can't wait for the concert, her class was definitely the best of the Kinderdance classses, everyone was dancing and seemed to know what they were doing!!

I also went to a crop day on Saturday and managed 4 1/2 layouts & a card. Here are 3 of them:

Lily in Fiji, I love this photo and these October Afternoon papers

Murrays Red Baron flight, a present for his 40th

Almost identical?

I did this layout for the Whats Cooking challenge at Scrapz :

While I was looking at this photo of me in Kindy, I realised I am about the same age as Zane is now, not quite 5. I went and had a look at some recent photos I have of Zane and found this one, and put it next to the one of me:

He is all me on the outside!

Zane had his first hour at BIG school yesterday and he loved it! He is doing 3 one hour sessions that get them used to the school. It's a great idea and has made him even more excited to be 5 and go to school next year. Only 3 more weeks till his birthday, I need to get onto the invitations and planning, then it will be time to think of Christmas!!

Trip to Emergency

We had a lovely trip to the emergency dept today, Lily decided one of her dolls shoes could fit up her nose!   We went to the GP first, he could see it but it was wedged too high, so he sent us to emergency. A quick call to Mum and swung by her place to drop Zane off and off we went. A few laps of the carpark to find a spot and I was all frazzled by then - in the meantime Lily had sneezed and it came out - but I didn't realise and took her in. They checked her over and couldn't find it - of course - so the nurse said she was going to get another pair of eyes to have a look. Poor Lily thought they were going to give her new eyes!!  I worked out she may have sneezed it out by then so when Murray arrived a short while later I sent him to find the offending shoe!! He found it and we got to go home. As we were leaving Lily said "I bless you'd it out, that was funny!!".  Well I guess it kind of was, but it could of been a lot worse, so glad she "bless you'd it out ".
