Challenge Blogs

This month I decided to de-lurk and play along with some challenge blogs. The first one is for Kraft It Up and is a 12345 challenge. Have never done one of these before, it was hard not to add anything even though I am not a heavy embellisher.

   1 Kraft cardstock
   2 photos smaller and 6 x4
   3 different alphas
   4 different patterened paper
   5 different embellishments

I came up with this:

I think I am the only one who doesn't play angry birds on MY iphone - Zane, Lily, Murray, even my mother-in-law all like to play it!

The second challenge I have done is for Scrap the Girls. This months challenge was an inspiration challenge based on this image:

I loved the blues & oranges and of course all the cute little birds, butterflies & flowers, and came up with this:

Great fun, will definitely be doing more of these!

My Girly Girl

Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter!! We stayed home but had plenty of things on keeping us busy so not as much chance to scrap as I would of liked.

I managed to get one of the challenges done over at Scrapz this week. This weeks theme was Dye and I did the Paint A Rainbow challenge Belinda set. The colour combo was Pink, Blue & Yellow and the challenge was to dye an item with food colouring. I dyed a white crochet doily with rose colouring and then quickly ran it through the tap so some of the dye came off leaving it lighter in some spots and darker in others.

Love this pic I snapped of Lily and together with the colour combination it was the perfect opportunity to document how much of a girly girl she is. The journalling reads:

Lily you are such a girly girl. You insist on only wearing dresses or skirts, love to dance and play with your barbies.

Hopefully now school has resumed there will be more time for scrapping!

Boy Pages

The first week of the school holidays are already finished, I have been enjoying them as much as Zane I am sure! Lily still has care, so we have enjoyed a couple of Zane only days which is always nice.  I have been having a bit of a roll on scrapping boy pages recently.  (I have also done a very girlie page, but you will have to wait a few months to see it!)

The first one is an older pic of Zane, using a mix of Crate, Basic Grey & Pink Paislee papers and the cute Echo Park little boy sticker.

Once again I have played along with the challenges over at  Stuck Sketches.  I have used this sketch from the April 1st sketch challenge:

Creating this layout with lots of Crate Paper Toy Box goodness:

And finally one of Zane playing on the flying fox at our local park. He loves the flying fox so much, I can always guarantee that I will find him playing on it.

That's all for the moment, might go do a couple of girlie pages now to balance things out!

My First Attempt

I decided to have a go at applying for a design team spot over at Inspired Blueprints.  I was unsuccesful (no surprises), but am quite pleased with my layout. I have quite a few nice pics of Zane from his preschool graduation last year. I love the sitting down pic my Mum took, he looks like he is contemplating the future, even if he is really wondering if he can just go and play now!

Another layout to share, this one is for last weeks Scrapz challenges, Paint a Rainbow with the colours charcoal, sky blue, olive green & sandy beige with the theme of leaves. Love this photo of Zane laying on the grass at home.

I did a big clean up of my scrap area the other day and sorted through some of my new goodies and matched up some photos to them, I have so many older photos still waiting to be scrapped. Now I have about a dozen "kits" ready to go, so lots more scrapping to come!
