My Beautiful Mum

I have played along with the challenge over at Scrap the Girls again this month. The challenge is to scrap about an important female in your life and to do more than 20 words of handwritten journalling. I always scrap about the kids, and eventhough Lily is a pretty important person in my life, there is also another: My beautiful Mum! I have scrapped her before as a child, but don't think I have done one of just her as she is now.

I love the reds, yellows and greens in this especially on the black. Had to have flowers on a page about Mum too, as unlike me, she is quite a green thumb, so this Echo Park paper was perfect!

The journalling reads: I am so blessed to have a Mum as wonderful as you. You are beautiful inside and out. I love you so very, very much xxx

Brotherly Love

A few weeks ago at Scrapz there was a challenge to use some older photos. Well since then I have been a bit obsessed with going though my older photos. It is quite fun, things I wouldn't of scrapped at the time, are now totally scrappable and there are just so many I want to use!

Zane loved Lily to pieces, almost literally when she was a baby. Their close age gap meant he wasn't always gentle with her but he did love to give her cuddles.

Using the new My Minds Eye Lime Twist range. Such gorgeous heavy papers, but my border punch didn't like them too much! I also used some Echo Park paper and alphas.

Thanks for looking

Long time between posts

I have been scrapping, just nothing I can share yet. I have been working on my guest designer layouts for Scrapz next month and some layouts for All About Scrapbooks which will be a step-by-step.

I do have one page to share, a fun one for Easter using  the gorgeous Crate Paper Neighbourhood range:

The Easter Bunny didn't bring as much this year, everyone else more than made up for it though, there is still plenty left, especially Lilys, she really isn't that fussed on chocolate!

Hopefully my next post will be much sooner!

15 minutes

I am still excited about my layout being on the cover of this months Scrapbooking Memories magazine!! I had no idea it was going to be on it so it was a HUGE surprise to go to the letterbox and grab the mag and discover Lily's face smiling up at me! Lily on the other hand couldn't quite get the fuss I was making. I gave her the mag and she asked if there was anything interesting inside. Well, yes, I have a layout inside too, but the cover - woohoo!!! She thinks it is kinda cute now, so agreed to have a pic of her with her holding the mag:

Have also done some layouts this week. One for the weekly challenges at Scrapz of course! This one is based on this sketch by Kerryn:

I squished the sketch a bit to make it work for these wallet photos I had of Zane while we were still in hospital.

This next one is just my own, had the idea to use predominantly all the stickers on the Echo Park sticker sheets as I always end up with so many left! I ended up using a few, but a bit more patterned paper that I planned. I am still undecided if it needs something more at the top right of the photo or not?

Thanks for stopping by

Mothers Day

Hope all the mums had a wonderful Mothers Day. I did. I enjoyed a sleep -in, breakky cooked and lovely gifts. Also a fabulous afternoon tea with family.

My poor little man had a terrible day, he has a virus which left him sleepy for the most part. The day before he wrote this for me (I think Grandma may have encouraged this ;) )

It was also National Scrapbooking Day on Saturday. I didn't get a chance to scrap on the day but I have two layouts from the week to share.

This one was for the weekly challenge at Scrapz, using this colour combo from Sheree, combined with the criteria of using an older photo.

When I found this pic of Zane from a few years ago I just loved it and had to scrap it eventhough I couldn't remember anything about the day apart from we were at Grandma's house. He just looked so sweet!

This one started off as a Scrapz challenge too, to use a title from a layout in the gallery. I used one from one of Sherees layouts but I left it too late and didn't use the rest of the criteria but came up with this. I just love these colours.

Hoping to get a bit more scrapping done this week, last week was hectic!

We're Savvy

I got the We're Savvy kit over at Scrapbook Savvy last month. These are two layouts I created with the kit, still have enough to do a few more too:

The first one for the kit challenge - to use layering, string bows & numbers:

I love this photo of Lily with that mammoth curl in the middle of her forehead, it really cannot decide which way to go.  This poem really sums up her personality at the moment too, she is the sweetest, kindest little girl, but boy do not tick her off - definitely horrid! She also hates me reciting this to her - haha!!

I also did this layout, this photo is from the same day as the previous one I have just realised! She really looks up to her brother so much, the photo tells the story itself I think.

Till next time
