Ticklez Kits

A few pages using the July Ticklez Kit over at Scrapz. These are THE best value kits around, a bakers dozen of papers aswell as alphas and an assortment of embellishments all for only $29.95. Enough to make plenty of layouts!

Here are the 3 I have done so far:

My favourite shot of Zane and Lily  from a photo shoot my mother in law organised. Typical Zane goofing off and Lily just about to get the giggles!

This next one is Lily and her philosophy about the cold and only needing a scarf to keep warm (said before the weather got real cold though!)

And the last one, my crazy fruit obsessed boy enjoying a err, tasty lemon!! When I saw this lemon paper I had to scrap about his love of eating lemons, so I took the photos after I had the paper - that's what scrapbookers do, right?

I still have a HEAP of paper and embellishments left which I will continue to work with as I totally love the colours in this kit!

It's in the Bag!

Just a quick post, this is my layout for the ongoing Location, Location comp at Scrapz. This week's challenge is Inside my Handbag.  The criteria is, to use a credit card/gift card, something shiney and something from inside your bag.

And my page:

I have made a copy of the top of my credit card, and used it to hide a photo of the contents of my bag:

And a close-up of my cluster, shows my something shiny - the punchenella, and from my bag the stamp with the wine glasses:

A new challenge is up tomorrow.

More paint

Another weeks challenge for the Scrapz Location, Location comp. This week the challenge was In my Car and the criteria was two or more photos, map paper and a car. I was a bit stumped with this one, then decided to focus on what happens in the car - Zane & Lily falling asleep, if its too warm in the car or they have had a big day, even if it is just a 10 minute drive they can fall asleep! Thankfully I had some photos on my phone of just such a time.

Once again I have got out the paints, lovin' it! I really wanted to keep this one kinda neutral and then add some splashes of red. I have used some old October Afternoon map paper and my cute little car is from Purple Pumpkin.

Off to work on this weeks challenge - Inside My Handbag!

White with 1

This month's White with 1 challenge is WHITE + PURPLE + DOODLING. I haven't played along with the challenges there before, despite attempting them I always seem to add other colours in, so I was very happy when this one worked.

I have a stack of purple flowers...because it is Lily's favourite colour I seem to be drawn to them, but never seem to use them. I probably only used about a quarter of them on this page, so will have to attempt some more purple pages! I doodled my border and some little swirls coming out of the flowers.

Thanks for visiting!

What's on your Plate?

Is the title of last weeks Location, Location challenge at Scrapz. We had to take a photo of a meal - breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Hmmm... I did have to think about it, I am not a fancy cooker (as the kids says) and I have a house full of fussy eaters, myself included so dinner can often be all sorts of different things for each person. Then it came to me, the most obvious choice was to scrap about Burrito's! I like them because they are super quick to cook and everyone likes them cause they are very tasty. It is one of the only things everyone agrees on liking, of course we all have different sauce with them...

The added criteria for this was to use recycled packaging in your title, 30+ words of journalling and a utensil on the page.

Journalling reads - The one main meal that everyone in the family will eat with a minimum of fuss. We have them with chicken, avocado, tomato, carrot, cheese and sauce - tomato for Zane, BBQ for Lily and Mexican for Murray & I.

August Crop Day

Last Saturday was my regular monthly crop with All About Scrapbooks and as usual I managed 3 and a half pages. I wonder if I will ever manage to hit 4? I was trickier this time though and took a half finished page which technically means I did four LOL.

I can only show two of them today though. One has been picked up by SBM and unfortunately on another one of my pages, I must of knocked it and the chipboard piece has dried crooked so I am going to redo it.

So here are my two layouts, both school pages of Zane that I finally got around to doing now Term 3 has started. He looks so little in this photo, can't believe how much he has changed in 6 months:

This is my favourite First Day of School photo. I have included some journalling which is hidden on the report card, which I took off my blog post here from the first day. It reads:

Wow, how did this day come about so quickly? One minute I was being rushed into theatre for an emergency caesarean & meeting you my special first born, making sure you were all okay, just a little cleft lip, no cleft palate and top AGPAR scores, you were perfect!
Now all of a sudden you are 5 and off to big school. My big boy, you still looked so small & sweet in your uniform. I was reminded just how little you are as you clung to my legs begging me not to leave you, you were happy to stay so long as I did too.  You clung so tightly to my neck when I left again, there were tears from both of us. Sister Sarah looked after you and came out and told me you had settled. Just before we left you were looking out the door and saw me, you had the saddest little look on your face, it broke my heart...
Thankfully, it was only a 3 hour first day. When we picked you up you were excited to see us and seemed happy and keen to go back to school tomorrow. I asked about your day, what you did, and your only reply was "nothing". Apparently that is a good sign with boys! I am hoping there are no tears tomorrow and you settle in quickly to this new adventure.

Scrapz Challenge - In my Wardrobe

Last weeks Location, Location challenge over at Scrapz is called In my Wardrobe. We needed to take a photo of our wardrobes, scrap a page about it using extra criteria of stitching, fabric or felt, a button and a coat hanger or peg. Hmmm... wasn't so keen on taking a pic of my wardrobe, not that it is messy, but because it is so bare. I have hardly bought any clothes post kids and tend to throw out more than I replace. Yet, from that sprung my inspiration for this challenge, why not scrap about having nothing to wear?

I have used paint again, totally loving it too, so no doubt will be doing some more with paint. For the criteria I have added some messy stitching to the corners, a scrap of felt trim and a flower button. I had trouble with the coat hanger or peg, till at crop yesterday when I found a pack of 7 Gypsies hangers, perfect timing!!

The current weeks challenge is to take a photo of a meal! Such a fun challenge, definitely a great way of recording some everyday moments in our life right now which will be fabulous to look back on.

Should be back in the next few days with some more layouts from my crop day yesterday with All About Scrapbooks.

Location, Location

The  latest competition over at Scrapz has started, it is a super fun challenge called Location, Location.  The first week we had to take a photo of our grocery trolley! I hid in the corner of Coles and took a photo with my iphone, trying to look like I was just sending a message - heehee!!

We had to scrap our groceries and include: a tag, the docket and the word trolley or basket somewhere on the layout. I decided to focus on the cost of an average weekly shop at Coles for us, something to look back on - 74 items for $271.51!! I don't buy fruit, veg or bread at Coles so they aren't even included.

Love the LYB stripey paper I have used, went perfectly with the groceries.

This week the challenge is to take a photo of your wardrobe - guess who gave the wardrobe a quick tidy today ;) Such a fun lot of challenges and there is still time to join in, even for the first round!
