Scrapz Olympiad

I have been playing along with a fabulous olympics inspired challenge over at Scrapz. The challenges are sketch based with some extra criteria aswell based on an olympic event. All the details and sketches are here.

Challenge 1 -  Opening Ceremony - to use banners, the word start or begin and something that opens (I've used an envelope to mat my photo).

This layout is from our trip to see Annie earlier this year. I snapped this photo as we were in waiting for everyone to get seated, I got in trouble for taking a pic inside the theatre - oops! I hadn't realised it included before the show began! Glad I did it though as it was the first time the kids have been to a proper show and they loved it.  They were both waiting very excitedly with their Sandy stuffed toys!

I bought some super cute doilies in the dollar shop the other day which is in the background, finally found some a bit nicer than the regular ones. The fab musical notes chipboard piece is 2Crafty.

Challenge 2 - Archery - to use a bullseye design, arrows and the word Aim

I was given these gorgeous doillies recently and have been just waiting, waiting to use them!! Love this quote and wanted to keep the page simple as the quote tells the whole story. The photo was from Lilys last day at preschool. The scallop circle is party of a nested set from 2Crafty.

Challenge 3 - Triple Jump - to used 3 photos, ruler or measuring tape, and one of the words hop, step or jump.

Gotta love it when a sketch comes along and its perfect for some photos you have sitting around!! Had these from earlier this year of Zane learning to tie his shoe laces. He only got lace up shoes this year and it was a bit frustrating trying to get him to learn but he finally got there, now we just need to work on doing them a bit tighter.

Currently working on a few more layouts for this challenge as it still has well over a week and half to go. Will be back in the next day or so to put up the full reveals of my 2Crafty post from the other day!

  1. All 3 layouts are fabulous, Fiona :)
The first one is so pretty & I love the bits & pieces popping out at the side of the photo.

The second one is so simple, yet so effective - love it!

And I love the circle you've created with the tape on the the last one....fab colours too!
