13 for 2013

Hello everyone

As the end of the year approaches it is time to look back on the last year, reflect and look forward to the new year. I love to look back on my scrapping for the past year and pic my favourites to share, and I love to see everyone else's faves for the year.

Here are mine in no particular order:

First Day of School

This is a fave for several reasons, love the colours with pops of blacks, it has doilies on it which I love, and the effect of the gelatos on the chipboard.

Just Add Water

Love the gelato background and the texture paste bubbles

Cheeky Grin

The rustic look and all the cool cogs plus that cute photo put this on my list.

Just the 3 of Us

Because it is me and my babies, plus gelatos again on chipboard, a fussy cut photo and a doily.

Tough As

Love the dylusions background, paper layers and the attitude in the photos.

A smile is the best make-up a girl can wear

It's a great photo of me, it's Maggie Holmes paper, and sequins.

Photo Booth

Fun photos and love the strip, plus a big doily.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle

The large photo and simple embellishments, the touch of gold.

Monet's Garden

This one was fun, sequins, flowers, leaves and wood veneer under a transparency to make a shaker.

Boyz Rock

Dylusions background and simple colour scheme.

Santa's Watching

I have to include a Christmas layout especially one with doilies and gold.

More dylusions background work and a touch of black.

The Story of the Shorts

Makes the list for the perspective of the photo and a gesso and gelato background.

That's my final 13 favourites for the year. I think I might need to get out the inks and gelatos a bit more as these have featured in most of my favourites, with a few simpler ones thrown in.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2014!

Till next year

WW1 - December Challenge - 8 Today

Back again

Just managed to finish this one off in time. It is for the WW1 december challenge, using one of my favouite colours. The colour challenge is white with banana.

8 Today

I got the gelatos out for this and some created a fun background using the drippy technique. I love the yellow with the greys in the photo of Zane turning 8 (I almost used a 7 by mistake!!).

A close up of the details:

I've dug into the stash to get some old MME felt, old Crate & OA  stickers and a new flutterby flair badge and MME enamel dots as well as some threads.

Thanks for looking and I will be back this afternoon with my Top 13 for 2013.

KIU December Challenge

Hi everyone

Popping in quickly to share a layout I did for the latest challenge over at Kraft It Up:

This month your challenge is to create a layout, "Christmas Themed" using one of the following non traditional colour schemes...

I loved this challenge as soon as I saw it and chose the Pink/Kraft/White/Gold colour combo. I adore this kraft and star paper from Studio Calico. I have used a few different ranges of pink papers - Kaisercraft Confetti, Echo Park and Jillibean. The edging of my layout is done using Aleene's Pure Snow, I thought it replicated the icing on the Gingerbread House.

A close up of the embellishments, Kaisercraft Confetti embellishments, Crate Paper Stickers, APOCD Flair, Studio Calico Stars and some MME enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by, I will hopefully be back tomorrow with another Challenge if I can finish it off in time tonight!

Scrap the Girls December Challenge

Happy Boxing Day to you all, hope you had a fantastic Christmas.

Today I am popping in to share a layout I created earlier this month for the challenge at Scrap the Girls, which was to create a multi photo layout.

My layout Today is a selection of photos of Miss Lily having fun hamming it up for the camera.

I created this page using the Kaisercraft Confetti Collection. Lots of "girly" colours in this range! I added some confetti dots with some texture paste and gelatos.

A close-up of the journaling:

Hello everyone

Popping in today to share my layouts that went live yesterday over at the All About Scrapbooks Blog. If you haven't followed yet, please pop over here and become a follower, as we are a brand new blog!!

I have been busy catching up on last years Christmas photos before I have a bunch of new Christmas pictures to scrap and am loving the Teresa Collins Santa's List range of papers and embellishments, the colours are nice and neutral - red, white, black and kraft, perfect to mix and match for all the Christmas photos!

My first layout is Bubble Santa, using papers, sticker accessories and enamel dots from the Teresa Collins Santa's List range, a 2Crafty chipboard tree, thickers, Heidi Swapp ephemera, a flair button and a silver doily from a christmas shop.

My second layout, Santa's Watching, was my class layout for All About Scrapbooks crop day which is held once a month in Gymea, south of Sydney. If you are local come and enjoy a day of scrapping. The times for next year are on the blog under the Crop Dates tab.

I have again used the Teresa Collins Santa's List papers on this layout, plus a piece of Kaisercraft paper (also called Santa's List!!),  several 2Crafty chipboard pieces, washi tape, a dollar store gold doily and stickers from Simple Stories Christmas Snap stickers.

Close ups and produc list can be seen on the All About Scrapbooks blog.

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #114

Hello everyone

Fridays Inspired Blueprints sketch went live yesterday and it is a multi sketch challenge this week! Perfect for a series of photos to tell a story, which is what I did with my layout,

I love how the sketch allows the photos to tell the story of the build-a-bear process. I have stuck close to this sketch, just made my photos a bit smaller and swapped 2 small photos for the larger one at the bottom.

The sketch:

All the sketches can be seen on the Inspired Blueprints page, which has a gallery for you to pop your entry in to win some great prizes. Check it out here.

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch #112

Hello everyone

Sketch 112 went live last Friday, I am a bit late posting this after a busy weekend, definitely know it is the start of all the Christmas festivities!

This weeks sketch is a single photo sketch, for a 6x4 photo:

I have created the layout Fabulous, of Lily's first time at a pamper party. I have used a slightly smaller photo and then continued the smaller theme by using the elements of the sketch but reducing them all, as well as adding some doilies and swapping the upper tag embellishmnents down to the bottom of my page. My journaling is hidden on a tag under the photo.

I love this Maggie Holmes Flea Market range, the bow and bobby pin style embellishments were just perfect for my layout.

Thanks for visiting!!

KIU - November Challenge

Hi everyone

Last day of the month and I am sneaking in a challenge entry! Kraft It Up's challenge this month is to use one of these trend pieces: flairs, wood veneer or enamel dots. I love all three products and have used all three on this layout of my kids with their younger cousins who visited in the September school holidays. Attempting to get a good photo of the four of them was a bit challenging!

I've used flair buttons from Simple Stories, some MME enamel dots and Prima wood veneers for the title, and some wood veneer stars by sodalicious.

Thanks for visiting!

More Wedding Pictures

 Hey everyone

I have another layout to share from the wedding we attended in Sweden, this one is of my beautiful kids together. It was so lovely seeing them all dressed up and being able to be a special part of the wedding.

Loving the chalkboard background and embellishments on this, just the right amount of black but not too black to complement Zane's suit.

That's all for today
Till next time

Family Snaps!

HI there

Back again with another share, technically holiday photos but featuring us this time! So many AMAZING things to see in Europe but you can't go on holidays without getting some family snaps.

First up is one of me and the kids that mum took of us in the Tiergarten in Berlin. We only had one full day in Berlin, would love to go back and explore it further.

The next one is both the kids chilling out in the public gardens we found in Venice. Such a nice shady spot to have a rest from all that walking, it was so hot in beautiful Italy!

Thanks for stopping by,

Boyz Rock

Today I am sharing a non holiday layout! It is a layout of Zane when he did dancing for a couple of terms last year and danced in the end of year concert. Neither of mine are dancing this year, and I doubt Zane will do it again but all the recent end of year dance concerts inspired me to get scrapping!!

I dug through the stash a bit for this one! That Boyz title I have had for so long! Glad to finally be able to use it! And a Z button from smiggle I think? I've combined them with some newer papers, Glitz Designs Raven and Carta Bella Well Played.

I've played around with my dylusions again, really happy with how they turned out on this.

I have a few layouts to share, back soon!

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #110

Hello all

Back today with the latest Inspired Blueprints sketch! Sketch 110 went live this morning, and is a super cute one. I've scrapped a photo of Zane & I taken at his family birthday party earlier this month.

I had some fun trying out some Project Life cards for this one. I am planning to do a PL style album for the bulk of my travel photos and if that goes well, maybe doing a PL album next year too.

Here is Sketch #110:

As you can see, I have changed it up a little bit by dissecting the squares and spreading them out, but tying the whole page together with the washi tape and the title. There are lots of ways you can interpret this sketch, be sure to pop over and check out all the inspiration from the rest of the DT here

All About Scrapbooks Class - Relaxing

Hello all

Yesterday was monthly crop day at All About Scrapbooks and this month, I taught a shaker page layout. Lots of fun, love the sequins and wood veneers and a classic colour combo of Yellow, Blue & Grey.

This photo of the kids was taken in Sweden, alongside the lake at Saltsjobadan. (I'm going to add that bit to below the title, but for the purposes of the class, left it as is.) Another one to add to my holiday album.

I also managed a couple of layouts while at crop, which I will pop up here as soon as the rainy weather clears and I can get some decent photos.

Thanks for looking

Kit Layouts

Hello everyone

These are a few layouts I have created as kits for All About Scrapbooks. They will be available at the Papercrafts Festival at Penrith Panthers this weekend. If you are heading out that way, be sure to check out All About Scrapbooks at stand 22!

Favourite Photo: Zane & Lily from his birthday last year.

Always Together: I've left the journaling blank for the kits and for the show, but will add some to this about how close these two are, and how I hope they always will be.

And finall, Cousins - a group shot I took of them when they were visitiing from north Queensland in the last school holidays. Pity they are so far away from us, both my kids miss them a lot.

Till next time

My Girl

Very slack blogging, have been scrapping for a few things, but not getting around to photographing layouts or blogging! This afternoon I managed to photograph a couple in my pile and am sharing a non holiday page for a change!!

This is a recent photograph of Lily taken while we were down the park to get some group photos of my kids with two of their cousins who stayed with us in the school holidays. Haven't gotten around to scrapping that one yet but this one of Lily was perfect for these gorgeous papers!

I've used one of the Crate overlays on this, which gives the photo a soft pinky finish. I love the dark blue and pink colour combo in this range.

I will be back soon with some more layouts to share this week.

Till then

Inspired Blueprints #106 - Monets Garden

Friday again, so a new sketch over at Inspired Blueprints. Sketch #106 is a great 2 photo sketch with some room for a creative background.

Once again I have delved into my holiday photos to scrap some photos taken at Monet's Gardens in Giverny, France. Absolutely gorgeous gardens, though we were a bit late for the water lillies, there were only a few about on the pond.

I decided to have a little play around with my background and took inspiration from the shaker boxes I have seen around for Project Life and adapted it to suit my 12 x 12 layout. I have used a clear A4 transparency at the top of the page so the whole top becomes the shaker. Instead of leaving it all to shake about I have glued down the veneer hearts. The sequins, flowers and leaves float around.

Here is Sketch #106

I hope to see some entries in the gallery which you can find here, and be sure to check out the other DT girls entries including the newest members of our DT:

Till next time

The Wedding

Back after a short break due to school holidays and my lovely sister, niece and nephew staying with us for a couple of weeks. I had just gotten into a good swing with the scrapping, slowly getting back to it now.

Todays photos are from the Wedding we attended in Sweden, the whole reason for our fabulous Europe trip! Lily was one of the gorgeous flower girls and Zane greeted the guests and handed out the order of service booklets. They both looked adorable, so I have scrapped large 5x7 photos!

First up is Zane in his cute little suit, I am not allowed to call him handsome, luckily the paper range - Glitz Dapper Dan, helped with an alternative title.

And next up a soft and pretty page of Lily, she LOVED the wedding, and watched on with a very dreamy expression on her face. She was such a lovely flower girl!

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #104

Happy Friday Everyone...

Well that is those of you that have the weekend off, I will be working all of it! Another Friday and a new sketch up on the IB Blog, this one is number 104 and it features 3 photos and a fabulous journal spot to balance the design.

Here is my take on the sketch, and yep you guessed it, more holiday snaps!!

Some photos from inside the Coloseum this time. We took a 3 hour tour inside which included the underground level and the upper tier, fabulous views from up there!!

My background is a mix of texture paste, gesso, paint, mists and crackle glaze, just playing around till I was happy with the colours and texture.

Here is the sketch this is based on...

and as you can see I have stuck pretty close to the sketch for this one, replacing the banner for a floral spray which I have moved to alongside my photos and I popped my title up the top where there was a bit more space.

Hope you can play along with this one, you can find all the info here

OUAS - So lucky

Hi everyone

I've played along with the sketch challenge over at OUAS this month, when I saw the sketch it immediately made me think of some photos I already had printed out on my desk. I love that sketches can help make how to scrap some photos a lot clearer!

Here is my take on the sketch:

The prompt word, is LUCKY, and I have used it in both my title and my journaling, which reads:

The Trevi Fountain, the first "landmark" we visited in Rome on the start of our European adventure. It bought me to tears. We were here! I felt so very lucky and blessed to be able to enjoy all these places I'd only dreamed about!

It was the trip of a lifetime, I would be back in a flash if I could! Pity Australia is so far away from Europe!!
