Sketch #83 Inspired Blueprints - Cake Time

Hello everyone

Still catching up with posts since losing the internet for almost 2 weeks! This is my layout for Sketch#83 over at Inspired Blueprints this month. A new sketch goes live every Friday morning - just in time for lots of weekend scrapping!

Cake Time:

I found this cake idea on Pinterest, it is super easy and was very well received, as you can see Zane wasted no time sampling the top!
I've used the bright and fun October Afternoon range CakeWalk - perfect right? Also got some fabulous handmade embellishments - super cute windmills from Rainbow Splendour and birthday flair buttons from Greatest View.

Make sure you check out the Inspired Blueprints blog and I hope to see your creations in the gallery here.

Till next time

Guest DT at Rainbow Splendour

Hello everyone

I was very excited to be asked to create some layouts for the next 2 months for Rainbow Splendour, gorgeous handmade felt embellishments, which I use quite regularly on my layouts.

This is my first layout using lots of felt goodies - Brave Girl

Lily with her second lot of stitches (these ones to the forehead, above her left eye) in two years. She was very brave getting them done this time, no small feat considering the trauma of the first time when I am pretty sure she felt them do them despite the anaesthetic.

Lots of gorgeous Rainbow Splendour here -  flower pops, birdcage, birdie, pink ferris wheel & chevrons! Be sure to check them out!

February STG - Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone

A long time between posts, I had my phone line ripped out by a passing truck back on the 8th of February and it has only just been reconnected today - almost 2 weeks later. It took the tech all of 10 minutes to fix - very frustrating!

Today I am sharing the current challenge over at STG. This month it is a sketch challenge. Here is my interpretation:

I have used this cute photo of Lily from a photo shoot I did with her a while ago, just love that she got her Rosie bear to give her a hug in between.

The journaling reads: Lily and her much loved bear, Rosie, a gift from her godparents when she was born. Rosie is alwyas there when Lily is sad, hurt or ready for sleep.

This is the sketch for you to play along with:

Gotta love a good sketch right? Hope to see you playing along, you can enter here.

Back soon with some more shares for the month!

February 2Crafty Layouts

Hello everyone

Just popping in to share my 2Crafty layouts for this month for those of you who might not of seen them yet. If you haven't be sure to follow the 2Crafty blog for lots of chipboard inspiration!!

February already, holidays are over and the kids are back to school for another year. It is with these things in mind I have created two of my layouts that I am sharing with you today. First up I have First Day of School, of my daughter who started school last year.

I have used the First Day of School title and the Frame Edith and applied gesso to both of these before using gelatos to create some cool effects.
On the title I have used a combination of the colours in the layout, yellow, green & blue and blended them into each other to create this gradient effect.

I have just used the yellow & green gelatos on the frame to create a blended two-toned effect.

On the above close-up you can also see one of the two Groovy flowers from the last release. I have simply inked these in black to add to my flower cluster. I have also used on of the 2012's from the pack and inked it in black as well to compliment the brighter colours.

For my next layout, The Year that Was, I have created a double layout to highlight our year.

These titles are perfect for this type of layout! The Year That Was and The Year in Summary as well as the 2012's again (these are also available for other years here.)
Page 1:

Page 2:

The Year that Was title and the arrow from the 12 x 12 Arrows Pack, I have dabbed with texture paste and then inked over both in green ink.

I have also used a gorgeous hot air balloon which I have painted, outlined in black pen then coated with dimensional magic:
The year in summary and the 2012  I have simply inked as they are smaller pieces and I wanted them to be simpler than the heavily textured title and arrow.

And the final piece of chipboard on this layout is also from the Arrows Pack - the 4 corners which I have covered with co-ordinating patterned paper and added a hand drawn border in black pen.
And finally this layout I created for a class at All About Scrapbooks last month, using the Enjoy this Moment, this moment is your Life title and the fabulous 1 inch hexagons and 1.5 inch hexagons.

The title has been cut to suit the design on my layout and both pieces inked. The hexagons I had a lot of fun covering with lots of different washi tapes, they are a fun way to cover chipboard!

Guest Designer at CSI

Hi Everyone

2Crafty are sponsoring CSI: Colour, Stories, Inspiration for this month and the DT are lucky enough to be Guest Designers for February!! It is such a great challenge site, be sure to check it out of you haven't before.

This weeks case file is no 57

The layout I have created is 10 Things I Love about You

I have used hearts, feathers, leaves and vines and intertwining as part of my evidence and a top 10 list as my testimony. The list is hidden on the tag under the photo.

And here are a couple of close-ups of the 2Crafty pieces I have used, the corner whispy vines which I have inked & gessoed and the Juliet Hearts, which I have inked and intertwined with roses.

Sketch #81 - Inspired Blueprints

Hello everyone

February already, and finally I can share a lot of the scrapping I did over January.

The first sketch #81 went live over at Inspired Blueprints on Friday.
Here is my take on the sketch, which is just perfect for all those Instagram or Hipstagram photos!

I have followed it pretty closely and chose to alter the background as the sketch has a lot of white space. I had a lot of fun playing with my new gelatos and texture paste to create this background. i wanted to create a water styled background to match my photos of the kids swimming while we were away on holidays over summer.

Make sure you stop by and check out the Inspired Blueprints site to see more gorgeous layouts from the DT over here.
