Rainbow Splendour - Guest Designer

Today I am sharing my last 2 layouts formy Guest DT spot over at Rainbow Splendour. I would like to thank Chloe for having me on board for the last two months.

My first page uses the fun felt chevrons, a star pop and a cute little felt dinosaur. I wanted to capture the essence of Zane in this layout, he is quite a funny boy, always with lots of questions and lots of information to share.

My next layout uses some cute flowers, two with lace and one with chevron.  This one is a pic I snapped on instagram while we were headed into the city for the day. Both of mine love getting the train places.

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping with Finn

Hello everyone

Last week I spent an awesome day doing a workshop with the very talented and inspirational Finnabair! I took two amazing classes and it was just so much fun!! It was also wonderful to meet in real life two very lovely and talented ladies Di Garling and Kim Price!!

It was such a blast being able to create a layout and a canvas in a style totally outside my comfort zone, I am very happy with the end results!

The first class was Tea 4 Two, it is amazing to see Finn's work and think, there is no way I will be able to do that, but then it all comes together under her fab teaching.

The second class was Lost in the Paperworld, and I did my own interpretation of this class, still incorporating the wonderful techniques we learnt:

So much fun (have I said that a few times?) The bonus is we got so much stuff in our kits that I plan to have a play and do a few more "Finn"spired layouts.

Thanks for stopping by

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch 87

Hello everyone

Last Fridays sketch got a bit delayed over at IB this week, but it's gone live today! You can check it and the fabulous design teams layouts over at the Inspired Blueprints site

Here is my take on the sketch.

My page is about Zane's haircut, which makes him "too cool", he didn't want me to put product in it because he was worried all the girls would chase him! He can be so funny at times.

I have used the some 2Crafty hexagons, a Purple Pumpkin button and a ScrAp This feather.

Thanks for visiting

Liebster Award

Hello everyone

The lovely Jan Rankine and the lovely Linda Eggleton have both awarded my blog the Liebster Award.

The Liebster Award was designed to be a blog award
in the pay it forward fashion. It is awarded to blogs
that have fewer than 200 followers to encourage new
visitors to them. Once you have been nominated you award
 it to five other blogs.

The rules are: Post the award to your blog,
give the award to five bloggers who you appreciate
that have fewer than 200 followers, then leave
a comment on their blogs to let them know that
you have given them this award.
My five recipients are, in no particular order:

Thank you to both Jan & Linda once again

March 2Craftyness

Hello everyone

Today I am sharing my 2Crafty layouts that went up on the blog last week.

First up is Cheeky Grin, a pic of my boy Zane, who looks quite angelic here but he was really up to some mischief.

On this layout I have used some cool 2Crafty chippy for "boy" layouts. I'm certainly all for flowers on boy pages, but I wanted this one to be more urban. I LOVE these cute cogs and gears. The large gears which will be released soon!!

To create the effect on these gears I have used a combination of copper ink, silver metallic paint which I have applied randomly. The paint was then rubbed while still wet and then some black gelatos and ink used to dull the shine.

My Cheeky Grin title was also a special request. It has been painted with metallic silver paint, rubbed while wet then edged and lightly wiped right across it in black ink and some dabs of the copper ink to finish it off.

The cogs have been painted in metallic silver and then swiped with some black in, but left shiny. I also have some of the fencing wire panel tucked under my layout. This I have inked in copper just randomly so some bits are still showing raw.

My next layout I have used an imprompt family shot, that was taken on no special occassion, a just because we happened to have the camera handy and my Mum took a couple of pics.  I am so thankful to have these two beautiful kids of mine.

I have used quite a few chipboard pieces on this one; thankful title, the locket from the Love Keys set, a lamp post, one clock from the clock frames set and a corner rosie.

The title & locket I have covered in gesso first, then used gelatos to colour them in. They are so easy to use and give a lovely blended colour, you can see particularly on the locket the darker edge and lighter centre.

The clock frame and the corner rosie I have covered in white crackle paint. The corner piece has been then rubbed over with the gelato, going darker in some places and lighter in others to tie in with my title and locket.

The clock frame I have left white.
The lamp post was inked then embossed. Then I have rubbed the embossing off in places and roughly inked with some distress ink, added some stickles to the light part and tied some mauve roses around the post.

My final layout you may have already seen, as it was for 2Craftys guest month over at CSI. I have used the new Just the 3 of Us title, branch with bird, birdcage1, scallop circle border frames and a name plate from the corners and name plate set.

I've gotten out the gelatos again for this layout. The branch with bird and the birdcage have been covered in black gesso. I have then coloured the berries and shaded the bird with red and pink gelatos. The branches were lightened with a grey gelato and the leaves left black.

I have just added some pearls to the base of the birdcage and hung it from the branch with some twine.

My title I have used white gesso, inked in light pink ink then dabbed with some gesso. My frame is inked and then stamped with some light pink ink.

STG March - Preschool Graduate

Hi everyone

A new month means new challenges and this month over at Scrap the Girls we have a colour challenge. This one is inspired by St Patricks Day and the colours are Green, White & Black!

Here is my take on the challenge:

Scrapping an older photo of Lily from when she graduated pre-school in 2011. I have been very slack with the photography this year, and been using my phone camera more than my DSLR which  I need to start rectifying!!

Hope to see lots of entries this month for this challenge, you can win some great prizes! You can enter here.

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #85

Hello everyone

Friday again, so another sketch reveal over at Inspired Blueprints. This weeks sketch is a fun 2 photo sketch, but naturally you can interpret it anyway you choose.

Here is my take, I downsized the photos and changed around where the title goes and a few other little things. These are instagram shots I snapped one day when the kids were playing and eating cheezels - it really is impossible to just eat cheezels without a bit of play!!

 This is the sketch:

And a close up of my title as its a bit hard to read on the screen. The title comes from one of the sayings on the Cheezels box :)

Hope to see you play along :)
