Love this Hair!

Hello everyone
This is my final share for the month with Carta Bella Boy oh Boy range for All About Scrapbooks.  I love how thick and textured these papers are! Today I have a created a  bright, fun masculine page, with a little bit of grunge, some tearing, stamping, gesso splotches and doodling.

Love this Hair:

Zane has wanted to grow his hair long ever since he could talk!! Usually it gets too messy or sticks up funny, but this time it has sat so lovely, and I just LOVE how it looks at the moment!

Hello eveyone
I have another layout to share for All About Scrapbooks this week, using this months Kaisercraft collection,  Bow & Arrow. I really enjoyed creating with this range, lovely colours and patterns that suit many types of photos. This weeks layout is a group shot of my kids with two of their cousins, it is very hard to get all six together with everyone in different states, so we always try to get some group shots whenever some are together!

For this layout I wanted to utilise some of the funky arrows in the collectibles pack and also play with the cool chevron die-cut. I have added some focus on the photo by using a clear photo overlay to draw attention to the subjects, while leaving the rest of the photo to blend in with the papers. I've gone with a clean design but added a few splashes of ink to add a little more of the brown to the layout.

Head on over to the All About Scrapbooks blog to see some close-ups and more with this range.

True Blue

Hi there everyone

This week I am once again creating with Carta Bella Boy oh Boy range for All About Scrapbooks. But this time, the page has no boys! Instead I have chosen to scrap an Australia Day photo of my daughter. I love the bright colours in this range, those red and blues are just perfect for an Aussie themed page!!

I've created my background using chipboard stars and mists. Pop on over to the All About Scrapbooks blog to see more details and some close ups.

Blog Hop with a Difference

Hi everyone

I received a message from the lovely Linda a couple of weeks ago asking if I'd like to participate in a blog hop with a difference.  It's a little different to the usual, scrapping blog hops as it's  not run by anyone, instead it's a blog hop to share a little more about yourself, introduce your readers/followers to some lovely scrappers that they may not already know and having fun.

I first met Linda when we were both designing for 2Crafty Chipboard and nowadays we are both on the Design Team for All About Scrapbooks. She creates the most beautiful pages, with lots of beautiful clusters and fabulous background work, that always have just the right amount of balance. You can see her gorgeous work here on her personal blog and also over at All About Scrapbooks blog

A few questions & answers about my creative process:

1.  What am I working on right now?

We've just finished two weeks of school holidays here, so I haven't had as much chance to scrap as I usually do. Currently I am working on a layout for All About Scrapbooks blog and a class layout, also for All About Scrapbooks. Once a month in Sydney, All About Scrapbooks hosts a 12 hour crop day and I teach a class in the mornings there
 For an upcoming class:

And you can see the full reveal of this tomorrow on the All About Scrapbooks blog.

2.  How long does it take to create a project?

I am not a fast scrapper by any means. I often leave a layout and come back to it, it's very rare that I do a layout all in one go, even one with very clean lines and no background work! I like to take my time and fiddle around with the placement of embellishments, adding/removing things till I'm satisfied. I can do about 3-4 pages at a crop day in about an 8 hour time frame, that's my quickest :) Occasionally a layout will come together in an hour or so, this is rare though.

This is one that came together pretty quickly:

3.  What are my favourite things to create with at the moment?

Oooh so many things!! I love wood veneer and flair buttons. At the moment I am loving mists, inks and stamping which is not something that always feature on my layouts, but I am really enjoying playing with them at the moment. Saying that, my favourite will always be patterned paper, I can't create without it!

One with a bit of everything

4.  How does my creative process work?

For design team work, I get paper ranges sent to me, so it starts with the paper, then I find a photo that matches (yes it HAS to match!!).  If I am doing my own thing or a challenge,  then it always starts with the photo.  I find papers that suit my photo and possibly a couple of embellishments. I almost always have to have both photo and papers ready before I get the idea of how I will design my page and what story I want to tell with my photos.

5.  How do I become inspired & stay inspired?

My kids, including our fur kid, inspire the majority of my pages, there is always something to record. I love Pinterest for ideas and challenge sites are great for keeping the inspiration going. I find mixing it up helps too, I don't always stick to the one style... which leads me to the next question!

6.  What is my signature style?

I've always struggled to answer this, but recently Scrapbooking Memories asked me to do a challenge to scrap Vintage instead of my normal style which they called Modern. So there you have it, it's modern!! That can probably be interpreted a few ways. Mainly my work has clean lines, I very much put the focus on the photo and using lots of pretty paper to compliment it and a few choice embellishments. I do like to mix it up though and am starting to use more inks, mists and stamping - mainly because it's a lot of fun!! I love bright colours rather than subdues tones.

The next two people are lovely scrappers that are going to follow me on the blog hop next Monday (21st). They are:

Chloe Neilsen:

I first met Chloe on an online scrapping forum, which sadly no longer exists! I was instantly drawn to her gorgeous work, she favours bright patterns and clean lines similar to me. Chloe also owns a handmade embellishment shop Rainbow Splendour where she makes lots of fabulous felt embellishments.

Rikki Graziani:

I met Rikki when we were both on a sketch creative team together. She is a great team player, and currently on quite a few design teams. She is a scrap machine, turning out stunning creations with the most fabulous mixed media backgrounds.

These ladies will share a little more about themselves,  their scrapping style & inspirations.  So make sure you give them a visit next week to catch their blog hop post, where you'll learn more about them & also see who they are passing the blog hop onto. Pop on by their blogs now and become a follower, that way you won't miss their blog hop post when it goes up next week....or any of their future posts showcasing their amazing work :)

Thanks for visiting and I hope you learnt a little about my creative process.
